When I look back and compare what I knew 5 months ago and what I know now, it is impressive how much I have learned and achieved in such a short time.

What were you doing before you signed up for our course?

I was working in sales where I was in charge of creating small programs in Excel, collecting feedback, verifying revenues, etc. It was at that time that my interest in programming was sparked. I thought that if I learned how to do something more advanced with Excel, like Java, JavaScript or Ruby, I could create something much better than a simple database. I started studying Java in my spare time and, at Ubiqum, I had the opportunity to develop these skills.

What was your main concern before you started?

I wasn’t sure if it was possible to learn to program in five months, but when I look back at what I knew before and what I know now, it’s impressive.

Why did you think Ubiqum Code Academy was the best choice?

Basically, Ubiqum was my number one choice in Barcelona thanks to all the amazing reviews I saw online. Apart from that, I loved the combination of programming languages it offered and that you study both front-end and back-end. I really understood Java thanks to this course, so I personally prefer back-end.

Do you consider that our “Learning by doing” methodology has been effective?

I loved it, it motivates you to learn and, when you really learn something, you keep it forever and you don’t forget it. The only thing is that sometimes you spend hours to find the solution, until you seek the help of the mentor to “get unstuck”. Even though I finished the course, I’m still learning as much as I can on my own.

Would you recommend Ubiqum? And if so, why?

If you don’t have any programming knowledge and want to change your profession, this is a great choice to get started. You progress very fast and gain a solid knowledge base in a short period of time.
