Congratulations on your new job! Where are you going to work?

Thank you, I am very happy with the offer! In fact, I had the luxury of choosing between two offers, but I chose Seidor because it fit me like a glove. I will be supporting the users of the application and, in addition, I will be developing the application using Java.

What were you doing before you signed up for our course?

I was working as a consumer representative in a telemarketing company and I quit my job to take this course because I was not happy. A friend who has been in programming for 12 years told me that there was an intensive programming program and recommended Ubiqum, so I started looking into it. Of course, it was not an easy decision; I have three children to take care of. However, my wife was very supportive and I have no regrets.

Why did you feel Ubiqum was the best choice?

I looked at a couple, but Ubiqum was by far the most interesting to me, especially since you don’t need any prior experience. The rest required previous assignments and entrance exams.

Do you think our “Learning by Doing” methodology has been effective?

With this methodology, you learn a lot, and you feel totally prepared for the workplace. It’s not like a school where the teacher is just giving information that goes in one ear and out the other. At Ubiqum, you feel like you are already working. A work environment is simulated and projects are proposed according to this dynamic.
I set a personal goal for myself, which was to use tutors as little as possible and to advance as much as I could on my own. Raül took a look at my story and it was amazing how much I had evolved without too much help from him or other tutors. I am very happy with the result, I didn’t even go to university but now I am about to start a job as a Developer!

Why would you recommend Ubiqum?

I have already been recommending Ubiqum to everyone. The mentors and professional tutors are fantastic, as is the methodology. Doing a course at Ubiqum gives you a great foundation and the “learn by doing” methodology educates you to be an autonomous and productive learner. I have just started an online course in PHP, already having the Ubiqum foundation, and it’s amazing how easily I retain the information!

What would you say to someone who is considering a career change like you did?

Do it! I’m going to work at something I love at a much higher salary, what more could I ask for? At my old job, I was totally stuck because there were no opportunities for professional or financial growth. As a Developer, on the other hand, there are only opportunities for growth. I know I’m going to grow both professionally and personally, and that’s very exciting! Taking the Java Developer course is the best investment you can make. Before I started, I read that 98% of students find jobs within two months of completing the course, and now I can see that it’s absolutely true, and I’m one of them! In fact, the vast majority of my group were hired before they even finished the course.
