Congratulations on your new job! Where are you going to work?
Thank you. I’m going to work at Marfeel, a platform that helps bloggers and content creators to position and optimize their posts and ads. Everything has been very fast, I’m only 20 years old and, after completing the 5 month course with Ubiqum, I already have a job as a Developer!
What were you doing before signing up for the Java Web Developer course at Ubiqum?
I studied economics and then I did a couple of internships, some in a marketing company, where I discovered the world of programming and started to do some research on how the backend works. I was looking for a practical way to learn how to program and that’s when I discovered the concept of intensive programs.
Why did you find Ubiqum to be the best choice when you were looking for intensive programs?
I took a look at an intensive program here in Barcelona, but the course was very short and I was looking for something longer and more immersive. Not having previous experience, I liked that at Ubiqum you have more hours of training and that you didn’t need experience.
As my goal was to get a job as a Developer, I was struck by the high insertion rate of Ubiqum students upon completion.
Do you consider that our “Learning by doing” methodology has been effective?
This methodology has been ideal for me – learning by doing is what works. The tutors don’t do the work for you, you have to try to find the solution yourself and this way, when you figure it out, the feeling you get is much more satisfying and you won’t forget what you have learned. If you don’t learn this way and, on the contrary, you are only shown the solutions or others complete them for you, when you get a job, you will not be able to work autonomously. The objective of the course is to make you employable in the IT sector and the course certainly achieves this goal.
Why would you recommend Ubiqum?
I would recommend Ubiqum for the positive and motivating environment and, more importantly, for the course content. It transforms first timers starting from scratch to being able to work autonomously programming projects that you never considered possible to do.
