What did you do before enrolling in our FrontEnd Developer course?
Before I started the course I was working in the retail sector. I had the opportunity to join Ubiqum and I took it.
What motivated you to start learning to program?
It was something I had never done before, but I had always been curious. Sometimes I would look at my friend Developer’s code and it seemed like a language from another world. I decided to sign up for this course to see if I was able to learn how to program and see if it was something I really liked.
How did you find us and why did you decide to sign up for our course?
I found out about the Ubiqum bootcamp through a friend of my mother’s who recommended this course to improve my job opportunities and my future.
What did you find most difficult during the course?
What I found most difficult during the course was learning to program without any previous knowledge. The mentors told me from the beginning that there were going to be moments of tension when you don’t know how to solve a task, but you have to be patient and do things little by little. If you work hard you get there, and I am an example.
Do you think our methodology works?
It worked for me. I started from scratch without even knowing what an HTML file is. Soon after, I was able to learn how to create a web page using HTML and CSS. If you put in a lot of effort, things always work out in the end.
Why would you recommend Ubiqum?
What I liked the most during the course is that we worked as a team and whenever there was a difficulty we all got through it together. This creates a lot of camaraderie and helps you to be more productive and motivated to find solutions. In a team you advance faster than alone.
What are your plans after finishing your training period at the Ubiqum bootcamp?
In the last two weeks of the course I received offers for several freelance projects. I had the opportunity to create websites for two architectural firms. Finally I accepted a job as a front end developer to gain experience in a real professional environment.
What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about changing careers?
It is a course that can be easily combined with the career. Apart from the fact that it has very good job opportunities, you learn a lot and you can do it without previous knowledge. At the beginning it is not easy, but once you have found the rhythm, the learning process becomes more enjoyable and is very intense.
Did you have any doubts before signing up for the FrontEnd Developer course? How do you feel now?
I started the course without knowing anything and now I am very happy to have had the opportunity to learn so many new things and improve myself. Programming teaches you a new language that you never fully master, but having the solid foundation that Ubiqum gives you, you can continue to advance professionally.
How would you describe your experience at Ubiqum?
From not knowing how to save an HTML file, to working in different companies, has been a big step for me. My experience at Ubiqum has allowed me to make a radical change in my professional life.
