Congratulations on your new job, where will you start working?

Thank you! My goal was to get a job and I have achieved it! I am going to work at Everis.

What were you doing before you signed up for our course?

I was doing something that had nothing to do with programming; I was working on offshore oil rigs. Of course, I got tired of always being away from home and decided I needed to make a change. I talked to a friend who told me there was a lot of opportunity in programming and he was right.

What was your main question before starting the course?

I knew I liked programming and technology in general, but I didn’t know exactly what to do. Then I saw that in Ubiqum Code Academy they trained you to be a Full-Stack Developer and that this type of technological profile was in high demand in the market.

Why did Ubiqum stand out as the best option?

I took a look at another program that was only three months long and studied only front-end, but since I was making such a big career change, I wanted to gain the skills of a Full-stack Developer. I thought there would be opportunities with front-end training, but there would be even more studying full-stack.

Do you think our “Learning by Doing” methodology has been effective?

It can be frustrating at times because you are in an unfamiliar environment and you have to learn a lot, but in the end it all makes sense and you manage to understand everything. Tutors help a lot and without them it would be impossible. Being part of a group also helps because there are people who know more than others and everyone is willing to share their knowledge.

Why would you recommend Ubiqum?

I would recommend this course to anyone who finds themselves in a situation of wanting to change careers; programming is a very good alternative! It was not easy for me to realize that everything I had done and studied so far would not be useful to me, but I am very happy to have finished this course and found a job as a developer. I am the proof that it is never too late.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

I thank Ubiqum and the professional tutors and the Career Placement team. They make the whole job search process so much easier by sending you opportunities and putting you in contact with many different companies. Their role is almost as important as the course in helping you achieve your goal of finding a job.
